In short, our folks before were not as superficial as we are right now when it comes to physical attributes, specifically body weight.
As previously mentioned, most of us never get tired of looking for ways to attain the “supermodel” type of body. That is why several types of diets are coming out. It’s up to you which type of diet seems to be effective and easy to follow.
One way to lose weight that can be added to your options is the diet that recommends food based on your blood type. This form of diet was first introduced in 1997 but got popularized years later by Dr. Peter D’Adamo, a specialist in naturopathic medicine. The diet was based on researches done by Dr. D’Adamo’s father with his colleagues back in 1950’s. It was about the connection between a person’s blood type and his ability to absorb nutrients specifically, lectins. Lectin is a protein found in many popular foods. This protein may clump red blood cells which may lead to some health disorders.
According to this diet, people should base the food they eat on their blood type. Dr. D’Adamo explained that food has different reactions with various blood types. He based this on certain data about how human evolved specifically on the occurrence of different blood types. In his book EAT RIGHT FO RYOUR TYPE, he presented that type O was the first blood type of our ancestors between 50,000 BC and 25,000 BC. As what we learned from our human evolution class, people during those times didn’t know agriculture yet so mostly, meat was their only food. Between 25,000 BC and 15,000 BC, when men started to dig the land and plant some greens, type A of blood began to emerge. Due to the climatic changes, as years went on, Type B existed and the blending of type A and B made way for type AB.
With all this findings, Dr. D’Adamo stated in his book that vegetable proteins are better absorbed by individuals with type A than type O who on the other hand are more likely to be in good shape with animal protein.
